Biography
Peter Vanrolleghem is a bioengineer and PhD in environmental technologies from Ghent University (Belgium). He was hired there in 1997 as a professor focusing his research on bioprocess modeling methodology (agriculture, rivers, water resource recovery plants, StaRRE). In 2006, he immigrated to Quebec as Canada Research Chair in Water Quality Modeling. He is a full professor in the Department of Civil and Water Engineering at Université Laval. His team, modelEAU, focuses on modeling water systems at different scales: the StaRRE, the network-treatment-river system, and watersheds. Problems studied include nutrients, greenhouse gases and contaminants of emerging interest.
